Webb Chapel Park Pavilion
11428 Cromwell Dr, Dallas, TX 75229, United States
Studio Joseph (2011-12)
Here we look at a different sort of interior. This is interior, exterior and urban design all in one, and a project that does so much with so little. It’s as if Le Corbusier had landed in 21st Century suburban Dallas with a bold, tough, off-form concrete shell with bright yellow internal light funnels, inspired by Mexican umbrella structures, creating a gathering place with shade, seating, tables and an overview of the playing fields and playground. An inspired design for something generally so mundane, immaculately detailed and beautifully completed.
